We coordinate a collection appointment at an appropriate private location, including a law office, medical practice, funeral facility, or another approved setting. We work around your schedule, including weekend and after-hours availability upon request. All scheduling details are confirmed before the appointment is finalized.
Prior to sample collection, the required consent documentation and identity verification are completed based on the type of test being performed. Legal testing requires identity verification and documented chain-of-custody procedures. Required consent must be completed before collection begins.
For standard mobile collections, a trained collection specialist meets you at the confirmed location. Standard relationship testing typically uses buccal cheek swabs. For prenatal paternity testing, the maternal blood draw is performed by a licensed phlebotomist and the alleged father provides a cheek swab. Postmortem cases are coordinated with the funeral home or other appropriate facility according to laboratory requirements. Samples are labeled, sealed, and prepared for secure transport according to the required protocol.
Samples are transported securely to our laboratory partner for analysis. Legal relationship testing is processed through an AABB-accredited relationship-testing laboratory. Standard results are returned within 3–5 business days of sample receipt. Prenatal paternity (NIPP) results take approximately 7–10 business days. Postmortem cases take approximately 10–15 business days. Expedited processing is available upon request.
Results are delivered securely by email or mail within the stated turnaround window. Legal test reports include applicable chain-of-custody documentation, relationship-testing results, and laboratory information. Results are never released by phone.

AABB accreditation is specifically recognized for relationship DNA testing. AABB-accredited facilities follow validated procedures for relationship testing, chain of custody, and traceability. Many legal and government processes require or recognize testing performed through an AABB-accredited relationship-testing facility.
CAP accreditation evaluates laboratory quality, processes, and performance through a rigorous inspection and accreditation program. CAP accreditation applies to the laboratory services included within its accredited scope.
